Young Professionals are invited to join Manatee Young Professionals (MYP) members and guests for casual business networking in a great social setting.

The October MYP Networking Social will be hosted by Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on Thursday, October 12 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

There is no cost to attend for paid MYP members or for those who join on-the-spot. Cost is $5 for all others.

Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar are included.

Speed Networking with YLA, YPG, MYP, and YPN

Join fellow young professionals from the area at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing for a very special Speed Networking event. This is a great way to practice your elevator speech while making a bunch of great contacts!

Complimentary appetizers and drinks will be provided.

How it works:
Each participant will be introduced to 20 members.
Each member will have 1 minute to talk about who they are and what they do. Every 3 minutes you will be asked to move to the next table and meet someone new.

If you meet anyone you would like to get to know better there will be an open networking opportunity
after the event.

MYP Community Service – Boys & Girls Club Christmas Tree Lot

Volunteers are needed to work the Boys & Girls Club Christmas tree lot. Volunteers will assist with tree sales, stump trimming, wrapping (netting) trees, and the tie-down of trees to vehicles.

Two shifts to choose from:
Shift 1 – 3:00 – 5:30 PM
Shift 2 – 5:30 – 8:00 PM

Bring your own gloves and wear closed toed shoes.

MYP Fall Funk – a Networking and Live Music Event

In partnership with Realize Bradenton, Ace’s Live and Darwin Brewing we are hosting our first fall networking and live music event.

Join us at Ace’s Live on Thursday, November 10 for networking, lite appetizers, and LIVE MUSIC!

Ace’s Live has lined up funk-flavored rock-soul infused Holey Miss Moley to entertain us for this event. Their high-energy sound is reminiscent of old school 70’s funk melded with elements of Disco, Jazz, Soul and Hip-hop creating a superb fusion that delights and energizes the crowd getting people up and dancing all night!

$5 – pre-registration includes admission and ONE free Darwins beer. Must register before NOON on Wednesday, November 9.
$5 – day of the show.

Ace’s is a 21+ NON-SMOKING venue.

MYPower Networking Lunch

Join us for networking lunch at enRich Bistro on Wednesday, October 26 from 11:45 am -1:00 pm. Following lunch, you will share a 30-second “commercial” about what you do and who your ideal client would be. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with other young professionals.

$15 for members of MYP, $20 for all other guests.

Manatee Young Professionals is a program of the Manatee Chamber and geared toward professionals in the age range of 21 – 40 years.

Get Out the Vote – Half Cent Sales Tax Informational Luncheon

After careful research and deliberation, the Manatee Chamber of Commerce is enthusiastically supporting both upcoming local sales tax referendums – the 1/2 Cent renewal for Manatee School District Capital Outlay and the 1/2 Cent for Manatee County Infrastructure.

We believe these funding sources are critical to the long-term success of our community and its quality of life.

Come hear from two past Chairmen of the Manatee Chamber’s Board of Directors – Mac Carraway and John Horne – about the two referendums, which both will be on the November ballot. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.

This event is $10 to attend and will be catered by Chicken Kitchen.

Reservations are necessary and must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 7. Cancellations after this date will be invoiced as guarantees have already been made on your behalf.
