A Sneak Peek Inside The Sarasota Underground

Hello there, my name is Raymmar Tirado, and I am the founder of the Sarasota Underground.

A few years back, I started a personal blog. Over time, the blog became popular, and at one point it was outperforming some of the local media companies here in Sarasota.

The national exposure was great, but I wasn’t having much of an impact here in my home town, which is where I think we could make the biggest difference. In an attempt to fix that, I’ve teamed up with Clear Idea Labs, and we’ve decided to start building a local new-media company that is focused on telling a unique Sarasota story.

We want to help amplify the voice of area young professionals, empower local creative entrepreneurs, and encourage the community to support their local businesses. You can think of us as a hybrid media company, and digital chamber of commerce. A place where we can begin to leverage technology in an attempt to push Sarasota into the 21st Century.

Sarasota Underground is the beginning of our efforts to do just that.

We are building an open source media company that is designed to empower area creatives, and drive local commerce.

Were going to help drive local commerce, while encouraging more engagement on important civiv issues.

We understand that Sarasota is special for very specific reasons, and we want to make sure we don’t lose sight of that.

But we also understand the need to amplify the voice of area young professionals, present the Sarasota story in a perspective the makes sense to a more diverse demographic. We want to show younger voters how easy it is for them to get involved in shaping the future of this city we all love.

We also think it’s high time a new generation of movers and shakers came together to make a real difference in This town…. Because this shit isn’t just going to fix itself.
