SUMMARY:Paradise Portraits (Launch Party)
DESCRIPTION:Hey there friends\, I have a really special project that I’d like to talk to you about. Most of you know that I am 1/3 of Boyce Avenue\, but I’m not sure how many of you know that I also do a lot of the creative design work for our band\, Boyce Avenue. This includes album artwork\, tour posters\, t-shirt designs\, etc. Well\, now I’m using my art skills to try and raise some support for the homeless community here in Sarasota\, FL. I’m calling the project Paradise Portraits. I’m going to be painting a series of oil-based portraits and a portion of the profits is going to go directly toward helping these homeless individuals through a foundation here in town. There are so many special\, inspirational people out there who have fallen on hard times and these paintings will help get them back on their feet again. These portraits will take a while to complete\, so in the meantime I’ve released a few Paradise Portrait t-shirt designs to help get the project started. Please come hang with us on Saturday April 29 to support this exciting new project. A portion of the profits from these t-shirts will go directly to the heart of the cause. You can also follow along on social media\, just search for @TheseQuietSounds or #ParadisePortraits on all of the major social media platforms. Thank you so much for listening\, I appreciate your time and I hope to see you on the 29th. – Fabian Manzano

We’re not here to collect business cards; we endeavor to create lasting\, meaningful relationships that connect people in positive ways. SUMMARY:Ringling Underground
DESCRIPTION:Ringling Underground:\nA series of one night only events combining live music and experiential artworks in the Courtyard.\n______________________+MUSIC_____________________\nRingling Undergorund and SRQ Arts Presenters Presents: \nRoadkill Ghost Choir is an American alternative rock band from DeLand\, Florida. \nIn January 2014 they performed on Late Night with David Letterman\, and have had notable appearances at Bonnaroo\, Lollapalooza and Governors Ball festivals. In August 2014\, the band released their debut full-length album In Tongues\, produced by Doug Boehm (Powderfinger\, The Vines\, Booker T. Jones). \nTheir sound has been described as “combining the experimental edge of Radiohead and the dusty roots-rock of Tom Petty\, tailor-made for arena-sized\, prog-rock festivals and grassy\, pastoral stages alike. \nSomeday River (ORL)\nAn experimental folk rock project and art platform envisioned by Greyson Charnock in Spring of 2015. Incorporating sweeping drum patterns and funk bass over songs rooted in folk\, the band crystallizes into their full sound. From the Salty Coasts to the Swampy Center of Florida\, Someday River draws their inspiration; weaving compositions\, and painting sound-scenes with a likeness to the ebb and flow of the inevitable tides. Using texture and dynamic the band brings you along with them on an experiential journey through their live performance. \nBLONK ( ORL/SRQ)\nBLONK is a three piece postmodern rock band playing original music out of sunny Orlando Florida. The band was gloriously formed in the summer of 2014 by Dr. Robert Zuclich on drums\, Tim on bass\, and Vladimir Dragonheart Rachmoninov on guitar and vocals. Listen for yourself and see why BLONK is the premier postmodern rock band of all space and time. There are many fine songs here on this website for your immediate pleasure\, and you are tenderly encouraged to visit us at our shows or to contact us for friendship and comradery. \n____________________ +ART__________________________\nArt in the Courtyard at Ringling Underground:\nRingling Underground event and artist liaison Sarah Viviana Valdez presents: TBA \nRingling Underground is always free for college students with a valid college ID. SUMMARY:Rock for a Cause
DESCRIPTION:Family\, Food\, Fun & Music!\nBands battle for a $3\,500 donation to a local schools music department\, and the winning band will receive a $1\,500 cash prize as well as perform the closing act at our annual street party! \nMore about the Event  \nWhen S-One Holdings Corporation approached the Sarasota Young Professionals Group about collaborating on an event geared towards giving back to our community\, it was automatic match made in heaven. With the YPG boasting a strong membership base of over 500 young professionals and S-One being one of Sarasota’s largest of employers of individuals between the ages of 21-40\, the two groups felt like a music based event in the heart of Downtown Sarasota was the way to go. And that is how the inaugural “Rock for a Cause” event was born! \nThe platform of this is based around a “Battle of the Bands” scenario where local bands will compete for not only a cash prize of $1\,500 and the chance to be the closing band at the end of the event\, but also the chance to allocate $3\,500 towards the music department of a Sarasota County school of their choice. \nFrom Aug. 2 to Oct. 9\, bands of every genre\, age\, and talent level are encouraged to submit two of their songs to our website via audio or video file. Voting will be open from Oct. 12 to Oct. 23 for the public to choose their favorite 6 bands. Those bands will be announced on Oct. 23 and will then perform in front of a live audience on Saturday\, Nov. 21 at Payne Park in Sarasota. \nDuring the day of the event there will be another voting platform opened up to event participants and the public at large to choose their favorite band. The winner will be announced that evening along with the school of their choice to receive the $3\,500. \nRock for a Cause will run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will showcase vendors from all over Sarasota selling goods\, food\, and beverages. This family friendly event will include a “kids only” area with games and prizes as well. \nThis is an event for people of all ages and families alike\, so please come out to support your local economy\, local music scene\, and help encourage people to visit and partake in activities Downtown Sarasota. \nSee you there!
