The Art Music Connection – Art Music Lecture by Bill Buchman

In this ambitious lecture, Bill Buchman, will use his practical experience in both art and music to explain and demonstrate with musical instruments and paint the real parallels that exist between art and music and the various ways which artistic and musical concepts overlap, interweave and mirror each other. In addition to playing various instruments and using various drawing and painting techniques and media to demystify this subject, Bill will show key artworks that illustrate these relationships.

iconcept jr.

The first annual Iconcept Jr. event is an unconventional fashion show of outfits created by emerging artists and designers ages 8-18 using their imagination & creativity to amaze the audience with their talent!

After the great sucess of the adult Iconcept Event (going on 9 years), it is now time for the creative kids to get their chance to shine!

The Rebels of the Runway will showcase over 30 designs using recycled, repurposed and many unusual materials. Students from around the area plus participants from Boys & Girls Club and Girls, Inc. of Sarasota use their skills to create outfits to be modeled on the runway.

This is a fundraising event to benefit Art Center Sarasota’s young audience by helping to provide scholarships for youth art camps and supports the Slice of Art Outreach Program offered free to the public schools.
