The 2017 Single-Take Challenge Awards!

Join us at Bowne’s Lab, at magnificent Florida Studio Theatre, as ManaSota Films proudly presents the 2nd Annual Single-Take Film Challenge Awards!

You will see brand new short films from all over the United States, as well as Canada and Australia. The event starts at 6:00 pm at the Green Room at FST for mingling and photos. At 7:00 we move into the theatre to enjoy the show. We will present 90 minutes’ worth of spellbinding short films, all created specifically for this event, and all shot in ONE continuous take – NO cuts! At the end of the show, the dazzling, multi-talented Kathryn Parks will present trophies for Best Film, Most Entertaining Film, and Extraordinary Cinematography.

Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door and online (link soon).

Come join the fun. You’ll have a great time, you’ll see some amazing new films, and all for only five bucks. See you there!

Photo Shoot Fundraiser for Humane Society Sarasota County

AGoldPhoto Pet Photography and Buddy Brew are hosting a Pet Photo Shoot Fundraiser for Humane Society of Sarasota County.

The photo shoot sitting fee for each pet is $35 and 100% of the sitting fee goes to the shelter.

– The Details

– The AGoldPhoto sitting fee is $35, which is fully donated to the shelter
– You’ll receive an online gallery with photos from the shoot to choose from
– Each edited digital photo is $20
– There is a minimum order of 3 digital photos
– You’ll be sent an invoice for the amount of digital photos you’d like to purchase through PayPal, which can be paid by credit or debit card if you don’t have a PayPal account
– Prints are not included, but can be purchased as well

– About AGoldPhoto

Adam from AGoldPhoto uses photography to tell stories of adoption, rescue and highlight various animal welfare issues. The goal of the photos is to bring traffic to his website, but once you are there, you’ll learn something too. His unique approach to working with animals allows him to showcase the pet’s personality in ways most people haven’t seen. Adam occasionally volunteers at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to take photos of adoptable animals as well.

– Multiple Pets?

Each dog does require its own time slot. If you would like photos with multiple dogs, photos can be taken together and if they don’t cooperate, can be taken separately and edited together.

Friday, October 20 7:30pm – 10:00pm
Saturday October 21, 7:30pm – 10:00pm

Three areas:
Trick or Treat Trail (Opens at 7:30pm) – A fun Halloween trail around Lake Ospreyeaturing many local businesses from the Osprey-Nokomis Chamber of Commerce decorating their booth and passing out candy for children or the more cautious Halloween enthusiasts. (Fun, kid friendly, not scary)

The Haunted Trail (Opens at 8:00pm) – A spooky, dark trail winding through the park filled with things that go bump and crunch through the night. Enter if you dare – there is no turning back. (Medium scary)

The Haunted Pavilion (Opens at 8:00pm) – If you make it to the end of the Haunted Trail, more horror awaits in the form of a Haunted House done by the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department. (Pretty scary. Not recommended for the faint of heart)

Additionally there will be hot dogs and drinks offered by local scout troop 77! As well as burgers and drinks offered by the Venice Sunrise Rotary Club!

Special thanks to our local Publix who will be providing s’mores, a pumpkin patch photo booth, and some sponsored snackage!

Crafts, fortune telling and more in the works!

(Please get your tickets early as there is a very limited parking capacity and once tickets are sold out – that’s it! We will be turning cars away at the entrance!)

Reservations are made at each individual restaurant. Not every restaurant accepts reservations, so be sure to contact the restaurant if you are unsure.

Sarasota’s Monthly Food Truck Rally

Come out and enjoy local beer, food, and music from people striving to add to Sarasota’s culture & the fast growing Food Truck community every third Saturday at JDub’s Brewing Company (1215 Mango Ave).

PARKING:
Please park respectively and use space wisely. We will be posting a parking map and complete site map prior to event.
Parking is directed to 2 overflow lots at Lanning Tires (east right across Mango Ave) and Construction Supply (west on 12th Street, right behind the brewery).

Food Trucks include:

JDub’s is highly Family Friendly with a variety of non-alcoholic offerings such as local Nitro Cold Brew (out and about coffee), bottled Kombucha (Kombucha 221bc), sodas, Organic Juice boxes and water. We are also ‘Friendly Dog’ Friendly (all dogs must stay on their leash).
