SYR Gotta Get Your Gun Shooting Event

Please join the Sarasota Young Republicans and the NRA for our very first “Gotta Get Your Gun” fundraiser and shooting event.

Guests of ALL AGES will meet at the Gecko’s on Fruitville and Cattleman for your concealed weapons permit training and certifcate. Lunch will be provided during your training. We will “cap” the afternoon off with a few hours of shooting at High Noon gun range on Bee Ridge.

***Per request of the NRA and their sponsorship, there will be 1 hour of campaign calls during lunch before heading to the range.***

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include:

Concealed weapons certifcate
Lunch catered by Gecko’s
Ammo
Gun Rental (if needed)
Targets

***PEOPLE UNDER THE AGRE OF 18 WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE CLASS, BUT NOT THE RANGE***

About Sheriff Knight:
Sheriff Tom Knight is the 10th Sheriff of Sarasota County, serving since January 6, 2009. To pursue this office, he left a 20 year career with the Florida Highway Patrol where he held the position of Troop Commander, managing a seven-county region with more than 300 employees, a central communications center and a $20 million budget.

Sheriff Knight has lived in Florida since 1973 when his family moved to Sarasota County from western Pennsylvania. He graduated from Venice High School in 1981, attended Manatee Junior College and later transferred to Florida State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology in 1986. Sheriff Knight and his wife Tracy have two daughters and currently reside in Nokomis.

March Social with Special Guest Speaker Rod Eccles

On March 9th political radio show personality, Rod Eccles and host of the nationally-syndicated The Rod Eccles Show will be making a special guest appearance at our March social.

Rod Eccles is the Host of The Nationally Syndicated Radio Show The Rod Eccles Show. He is The Coolest Most Politically Incorrect Conservative Black Man on the Planet and he is being dubbed the new Black Rush Limbaugh of our time. He is considered to be one of the leading voices in the Conservative Movement. This year he published his first book titled The Conservative ECCLESiastes: Logic and Wisdom from the Coolest, Most Politically Incorrect, Conservative Black Man on the Planet. Rod Eccles has been added to the list of Top Talk Conservative Radio Show Hosts. Rod also travels around the country making Key Note Speeches to Tea Party and Republican Organizations to inspire and educate the people of the greatness of America.

Sarasota Young Republicans Quarterly Volunteer Event

Hey SYR’s! Our quarterly volunteer event location has been announced!

Sarasota Young Republicans will be partnering with All Faiths Food Bank to help sort and pack food for those in need locally! Dress comfortably (close toed shoes) and come prepared with a smile.

We had a wonderful time doing this event in October!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Sarasota Young Republicans April Social

On April 13th County Commissioner Canidate Mike Moran will speak to the Sarasota Young Republicans about his current campaign and how voting for him will impact Sarasota’s young professionals.

“I am a husband, father, resident and proud taxpayer of Sarasota County. I want my county to thrive. Key to Sarasota County’s continuing prosperity is an adequate supply of good-paying careers, economic diversity and the aggressive protection of our way of life here. Soon, my two children will leave for college. My wife, Lori, and I very much want them to return to Sarasota after completing their education. But to return home and contribute to this community they will need secure careers that pay an adequate wage.
