Come along and ask questions and share what you know about WordPress during fluent conversation with Steve and other attendees. In our casual welcoming atmosphere, we’ll discuss using WordPress for websites, e-commerce and blogging. Attend Steve’s talk and gain clarity and new skills.

Steve Burge is the founder of OSTraining. Originally from the U.K., he now lives in Sarasota, FL. He was a teacher for many years before starting Alledia.com, a web development firm. Open Source Sales – How to build your brand name without breaking the bank

Join us for a BarCamp Sarasota Bradenton Network & Learn Event. “Open Source Sales – How to build your brand name without breaking the bank” with Raymmar Tirado explores the relationship based nature of an effective sales process, and see how large open-source networks will become future hubs for online commerce. We’ll discuss sales and marketing, ethics of sales, the future of social selling, and more importantly, how individual site-owners can leverage their website with “open-source sales” to grow online business.

According to Raymmar, an open source sales network offers a world devoid of advertising or sleazy sales tactics. He’ll engage the audience on how WordPress might just be the only ecosystem in which an idea like this, could ever succeed. Join us at Station 2 Innovation and discuss this topic in depth or attend one of our other great talks: https://www.station2innovation.com/events

Using a Business System for Growth, Profit & Peace of Mind

Every business operates under some form of a system and they can vary as widely as the types of businesses that use them. Many times the system can be described as “seat of the pants management” where experience, instinct, or guesswork are used in place of a formalized system and business decisions are dealt with “as they come.” This is akin to piloting an aircraft by means of “dead reckoning” or “flying by the seat of your pants” without the guidance of a map, compass or flight plan. What might work for a sole proprietor simply doesn’t scale and lead to good long-term consistent outcomes.

In Kevin’s presentation, “Using a Business System for Growth, Profit & Peace of Mind,” you will learn how the application and faithful following of a structured management process can put your business on track for increased growth and profit, while making the job of the business owner easier and more enjoyable. The process as well as its measurement components also demonstrates leadership by helping to communicate your vision and direction for the organization.

About Kevin:

Kevin Snyder’s diverse business career spans 34 years. Snyder began his career with Verizon in accounting and finance related positions. He advanced to lead operational units such as Billing, Call Center Management, and Process Improvement. His last position at Verizon was Vice President – Sales and Service where he helped grow a start-up unit to $350 million in annual revenue. After leaving Verizon, Snyder bought a Dallas-based company in the Manufacturing Services sector. He recently sold the business and became a Principal with Nperspective in January, 2016. A Certified Public Accountant, Snyder earned his B.S. in accounting from Bowling Green State University and his MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Techniques & Adventures of Reorienting Reinventing Yourself in Publishing

Join Entrepreneurs and Startups – Networking, Education & Events on Tuesday February 23rd for Jeff Orenstein’s informative talk around the ideas, techniques and adventures of re-orienting and reinventing himself in his still-evolving transition from professor to magazine publisher/book author to self-syndicated travel writer. Do you have ideas you’d like to share from your career and life experience? Would you like to share them with the world in print or electronic format? Great! Jeff will be here to hold a lively discussion of available options woven in and around his personal journey in the publishing world.

Gone are the days where agents and big publishing houses were required to get your work into print. With the publishing industry having undergone dramatic changes in the last few decades, syndication, indie and alternative publishing are viable options.

Jeff is the Founding Director at Fixing Democracy USA, Editor-in-Chief at Simply Smart Travel, and Founding Publisher of Living on the Suncoast Magazine.
